Accident Repair
This is a replica Jaguar SS100 built by Finch. The car came to me because I was in the process of restoring another vehicle for the owner at the time of the repair. The off side front guard was damaged and upon further exploration the stone guard benieth has sheered several of the rivets holding it in place. The bodywork is Aluminium which in itself created several issues due to age hardening.
The damage was gently smoothed out whilst in position on the car. This is done for several reasons.
1. The guard is held secure whilst working on it.
2. Being held secure prevented further damage to the paintwork, reducing the amount of extra work involved when it was time to re-paint,
3. Then the guard was prepped, stoneguard re-riveted, then removed, painted and re-fitted.
The car was then taken outside the workshop to check the colour match before re-building the front to completion.
